Because of a grandmother who held me in her hands
She gave me a mother that named me Sam
Who watched me grow into a man
Because of her, I am all that I am

Because of a Grandmother who helped give me a Nudge
Concerning me, she would not budge
Quick to love, Slow to Judge
Because of her, I am all that I am

Because of a grandmother who, for me, only had one goal in sight
To serve the lord with all my might
For this Reason I know, I'll be alright
Because of her, I am all that I am

Because of a grandmother who helped me become a man
She gave me a triumphant mother who named me Sam
Who watched me Become God's hand
Because of this Christ-like Grandmother,
